Don't try clicking on my name in the heading bar of this post - it won't work. Something screwy is going on with our forum database. At least one of the SQL tables seems to have vanished overnight. I'm trying my best to fix it, but I'm admittedly not much of a programmer or database expert - I'm a web designer. I'm more of an artist than anything at this point. Sure I'll learn the ins and outs of MySQL eventually, but right now that's not my field. That would be our admin. Who has been missing for months now. I have reason to believe he may have backups of the database, which could be used to fix this entire problem. But we can't get in touch with him. John, if you're reading this, get in touch with us please. Of course if and when we do fix the forum database, that still doesn't answer my question as to why a table in the database has gone missing to begin with. As for the gallery, it's still coming. I just need to have a chance to sit down with *ms to work on optimizing her gallery. There's a lot of files we need to sift through and we need to have a discussion about the gallery before I actually go ahead and code it. So don't worry, it's still fresh in our minds. We just need to find the time to sit down together and talk for a little bit, and then I'll go ahead and start working on the gallery. Where to start. I know that it's been a while since the website has been updated. This is mostly due to the fact that everybody that runs the website (all three of us) have been bogged down with school, work, and a myriad of many of the other various wonders that real life has to offer. For the most part we run this website in our spare time. We do not get paid for it. For Slynderdale and myself, this is simply a hobby, although for *ms it is much more than that I'm sure. The fact that I am suddenly updating the website does not mean that I for some reason have anymore spare time than I did almost a year ago - in fact I have even less. But in light of recent events, I have decided to forge ahead and get this thing running smoothly again (also I can use this as credit in my web design class). So what can you expect from the new Gerbilfat? For one, a new and improved image gallery. The best part is, the gallery will have NEW ART. The gallery I code may not be as advanced and feature-packed as the one Slynderdale had proposed, but alas he is MIA, and *ms needs her website up and running like yesterday. So I'm working with what I know to do the very best I can for you guys and *ms. Another thing that may or may not matter to you is I will be going through and improving the any parts of the previous code that will be carried over into the new version of Gerbilfat. What this means to you - the end user - is an overall faster, more efficient, and smoother browsing experience with sleak standards compliant code. What this means to use is less headaches and less unnecessary bandwidth usage. I've still got a lot of code to sift through and fix, and plenty of brand new code to write. So sit back and relax while I get the image gallery up in running. You waited this long, I'm sure you guys can wait at least another day. And *ms - happy birthday.
